After graduating in engineering the students can avail following opportunities depending upon their stream and specialization.
  • Pursue higher studies in India and abroad, i.e. MTech, MS, ME, PhD, MBA, Research Fellow.

  • Write GATE exam and thereafter either pursue MTech, MS, ME from premium institutes like IIT, IIIT, IISc, NIT etc OR apply for jobs in Public Sector Units (PSUs) like, BEL, BHEL, ONGC, BARC, ISRO, DRDO, SAIL, HPCL, IOCL etc.

  • Apply for government sector jobs like Railways, Defense, BSNL, CPWD, SPWD, ECIL, DRDO, Civil Services, Engineering Services etc.

  • Apply for private sector jobs like TCS, Infosys, WIPRO, Accenture, Tata Motors, Reliance, Tech Mahindra, Maruti, Honda, Construction industries, Power sector industries, Tool making industries, Auto industries etc.

  • Setup your own startups and industries and become entrepreneurs by availing government startup and MSME loan and support.

HIMALAYAN INSTITUTTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (HIET)

The Himalayan Institute of Engineering and Technology was established by the Himalayan Group in the year 2009 to facilitate the engineering aspirants of the state of Himachal Pradesh and the adjoining districts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. It is now ranked one of the best private engineering colleges of North India. The college is approved by AICTE, Govt. of India and is affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur. The college is known for its state of the art infrastructure and quality of education. Presently students from pan India are studying in this college. The college has strong tie-ups with industries for internship and placement.

Vision

The Himalayan Institute of Engineering Technology is committed to provide quality technical education and produce engineers who can match the dynamicity of the modern industries and serve the society with their constructive and nature friendly designs and solutions.

Mission

Provide quality technical education through innovative pedagogy and industry-oriented curriculum.

Produce engineers who can not only fulfil the demands of the global industries but can also setup their own entrepreneurships and provide employment to others.

Bridge the gap between academia and industries by nurturing the students as per the growingand updated technologies and industrial training.

Do industry linked Research and Development for the constructive upliftment and needs of the society.

THE STRATEGIES ADOPTED FOR FUTURE GROWTH AND INDUSTRY READY ENGINEERS

According to traditional wisdom, an engineering degree guarantees a stable and well-paying office job. However, according to a survey, only seven percent of graduating engineers can handle core engineering tasks. Today, most comforts that we enjoy are the result of true engineering feats and inventions. From the internet to the transport system, from sophisticated heavy industries to daily tools, from medical instruments to basic R&D across the world, the field is vast.

Today, there is a severe need to improve the quality of engineering education to revive its lost glory, progressively build the future innovators of tomorrow. The world needs skilled engineers ready for the industry.

Here are some ways through which engineering can bridge the existing gap between industry requirement and academic proficiency to produce a well-trained and disciplined workforce for the industry.

  • Leverage Technology

  • Experienced Faculty

  • Foster Stronger Industry-Institute Collaborations

  • Encourage Innovation and Entrepreneurship

PLACEMENTS

The right job for the right student and Job for all is the policy of the HIET. Students at HIET are trained and groomed to face core companies as well as placement agencies for the placement. The placement mission of the college is hundred percent. The college arranges special classes on communication skills, group discussion, soft skills, mock interviews, reasoning and personality development.

As the world is growing technically where the demands of engineers are increasing, industry needs more skillful engineers. The institute is embedding additional courses based on the latest technologies so that its engineers need not to run around to acquire skills required for the modern industries.
